Hey guys,

Has anyone successfully built Cyrus SASL on OS X? I've been trying to
build v2.1.25 for a few hours now, but I'm stuck with this
"-install_name only allowed with -dynamiclib" error. Any ideas?

Built fine for me on OSX 10.7. There are other issues with 2.1.25 on
the mac which were pointed out with the 2.1.24 RC and apparently were
completely ignored once again.

Quanah,

Can you file a bug report, or do you have one open?

Are bugs now supposed to be filed at: <http://www.cyrusimap.org/> ? I've
not seen this site before.
<http://asg.web.cmu.edu/sasl/sasl-library.html> still says to send them
to the cyrus-sasl list.

We're trying to merge all of the Cyrus Project into one site. You'll
notice that http://www.cyrussasl.org/ goes to the same site as above. I
recently updated the page at
http://www.cyrussasl.org/mediawiki/index.php/Report_A_Bug to attempt to
make bug reporting more consistent. I haven't yet gone back and cleaned
up the old asg.web.cmu.edu site yet, but I'll get to that.

Yeah, this still says to use the mailing list too, so it doesn't really answer my question. ;)

Should I simply point back to the original thread on this list that was started in January of 2008 (Nearly 4 years ago now)? Or do you want me to drop all of that into a bugzilla bug?

Also, in reviewing my email, the problems with OSX that need fixing were
reported all the way back to 2.1.22

If your issue has been ignored, I apologize for that. Hopefully we'll be
better at responding to bug reports from now on. We're taking steps to
improve the Cyrus SASL project now. Alexey Melnikov and Jeroen
VanMeeuwen are in the midst of migrating the SASL code from CVS over to
Git. Jeroen has already made a huge difference in following up on bug
reports for Cyrus IMAP and he has agreed to also assume release engineer
duties for Cyrus SASL as well. We keep trying to recruit Dan White into
a more dedicated SASL role, too :)

Good to hear!
