I installed a cyrus-imap server which is running nice. I tested it with imtest. With an other host, a thunderbird 2 client I am trying to send a mail. I use tls protocol and a plaintext password. The mail comes into the good mailbox (I see it in /var/spool/imap/f/user/fuser. But I have an alert message on my client (timeout). It seems that the message cannot be recorded as a received message on the server.
no, that's not the problem.
Here is, below, what I obtain in /var/log/maillog. Example 1 : Dec 3 09:41:58 dell2 imaps[21484]: imaps TLS negotiation failed: agly [111.222.333.444] Dec 3 09:41:58 dell2 imaps[21484]: Fatal error: tls_start_servertls() failed Dec 3 09:41:58 dell2 master[11973]: process 21484 exited, status 75 dec 3 09:41:58 dell2 master[11973]: service imaps pid 21484 in BUSY state: terminated abnormally
That means that (for whatever reason) TB2 can't successfully negotiate a TLS connection with the server. Perhaps you should try some other way of authentication?
