Well, in few days I'm going to commit support for
--enable-static-programs=mount,umount,losetup,fdisk,sfdisk
it produces *.static versions of selected programs (e.g
/sbin/losetup.static). I hope it helps.
It's expected in util-linux-ng 2.14 (release is scheduled for
end of this year).
