I'm not using a specific distrib but the linux kernel 2.6.10 on an AMD Alchemy Development Board AU1550 (a mips 32 chip).
I've already installed the patch on the kernel 2.6.10 but I don't find any busybox patch concerning loop-aes so I will patch by hand the code as you said.

Thanks
David

busybox code in order to use loop-aes ?

A google search brought up:

Which version of Linux are you running on this processor? I'm assuming
it is a MIPS distro:

My guess is you will have to compile util-linux by hand and replace the
mount and losetup symlinks of busybox with actual programs, in addition
to compiling the loop-aes kernel module loop.ko for the kernel you are
using, for which you will need sources.
