No, that is not OK. Makefile for loop-AES and ciphers packages run depmod program for you. You should not need to modify modules.dep manually. Your modules were compiled for wrong kernel source and/or wrong kernel configuration. Although those modules may seem to work, I expect such miscompiled modules to eventually fail. If you choose to use such modules, don't bother reporting problems later. Debian sid may have precompiled loop-AES + ciphers modules for debian kernels.
