I have restored and verified 50 GB data on reiserfs once and on ext3 once, so I guess it works ok me. Additionally, I verified that xfs on loop-aes on a plain partition works perfectly. So reproducing the problem requires at least xfs AND loop-aes AND (lvm OR raid). Nontheless, thanks very much for your time.
