Hello

I have install the cryptoapi-0.1.0 in the 2.4.21 kernel everything work fine , but

I have read that I should not use the ecb mode because it is very weak.

when I load the module this came :

Sep 2 21:05:39 linux kernel: cryptoapi: Registered aes-ecb (0)
Sep 2 21:05:39 linux kernel: cryptoapi: Registered aes-cbc (65536)
Sep 2 21:05:39 linux kernel: cryptoapi: Registered aes-cfb (131072)
Sep 2 21:05:39 linux kernel: cryptoapi: Registered aes-ctr (262144)
Sep 2 21:05:39 linux kernel: cryptoapi: Registered aes-rtc (524288)

BUT:

HOW I KNOW WHICH OF THE MODES (cbc ecb ...) WILL BE USED FROM CRYPTOAPI WHEN I MAKE A :

losetup -e aes /dev/loop0 crypt-file

thanks
Markus
