aes again

well Marc you said I dont have to use AES256, but well even if I dun use it I'M interested in the difference between the 128. simple question, more easy to break 128 than 256?
I read at loop-aes readme that for keys over 20 caracters it uses aes192, and over 40 caracters it uses 256. why is that?
