I'll release cryptoapi-2.4.6-hvr2 as soon as I've finished ensuring I didn't break any major thing... what's left is the need to do aesthetic stuff, and a bit of optimizations, the re-inclusion of the cipher vector testsuite, and the option to integrate the cryptoapi into a monolithic, i.e. non-modular, kernel... also the creation of user space tools for converting encrypted volumes to other encryptions/passphrases are planned... I've mailed alex in order to coordinate with him, I'm still waiting for a reply, in the meantime I'll do some further development, before officially announcing this 'new' effort to bring life again into the international crypto linux kernel add-on... I've setup a CVS repository, and there'll be some webspace to host this project, since my time is restricted, I _really_ hope to get some help for this project, so if you want to have the international crypto patch(/add-on) maintained, step forward and help to improve/maintain/test/document it... there are plenty of tasks available for everyone... :) ps: the crypto api is not bloated at all, the modules are far below 100k ;-) ...this is on ia/32 btw: core: -rw-rw-r-- 1 hvr hvr 6524 Jul 9 18:58 cryptoapi.o -rw-rw-r-- 1 hvr hvr 2816 Jul 9 18:58 cryptoloop.o ciphers: -rw-rw-r-- 1 hvr hvr 20948 Jul 9 18:58 cipher-aes.o -rw-rw-r-- 1 hvr hvr 10420 Jul 9 18:58 cipher-blowfish.o -rw-rw-r-- 1 hvr hvr 15560 Jul 9 18:58 cipher-des-ede3.o -rw-rw-r-- 1 hvr hvr 14880 Jul 9 18:58 cipher-des.o -rw-rw-r-- 1 hvr hvr 6676 Jul 9 18:58 cipher-dfc.o -rw-rw-r-- 1 hvr hvr 4112 Jul 9 18:58 cipher-dummy.o -rw-rw-r-- 1 hvr hvr 5564 Jul 9 18:58 cipher-idea.o -rw-rw-r-- 1 hvr hvr 12224 Jul 9 18:58 cipher-mars.o -rw-rw-r-- 1 hvr hvr 4864 Jul 9 18:58 cipher-rc5.o -rw-rw-r-- 1 hvr hvr 6784 Jul 9 18:58 cipher-rc6.o -rw-rw-r-- 1 hvr hvr 14232 Jul 9 18:58 cipher-serpent.o -rw-rw-r-- 1 hvr hvr 37156 Jul 9 18:58 cipher-twofish.o regards, -- Herbert Valerio Riedel / Phone: (EUROPE) +43-1-58801-18840 Email: hvr@xxxxxxxxxx / Finger hvr@xxxxxxx for GnuPG Public Key GnuPG Key Fingerprint: 7BB9 2D6C D485 CE64 4748 5F65 4981 E064 883F 4142 Linux-crypto: cryptography in and on the Linux system Archive: http://mail.nl.linux.org/linux-crypto/
