2.2.x <=> 2.4.x compatibility

Hi,
	I'm wondering if encrypted images are forward/backward
compatible between 2.2.x and 2.4.x. I have a test image created in
2.2.18 (kerneli version 2.2.17.9, created on 2.2.13.2) and works well.
Trying to mount the images in 2.4.0-test12 fails. Is it supposed to be
compatible or is 2.4.x support incomplete? Here is some output from the
kernel:
	loop: enabling 8 loop devices
	cryptoapi: Registered serpent (7)
	cryptoapi: Registered serpent-cbc (65543)
	VFS: Can't find an ext2 filesystem on dev loop(7,1).

	Also, does the current util-linux patch support creating
crypted images in AES/Rijndael format? I tried modifying util-linux
(specifically lomount.c) to support RIJNDAEL but it did not help.

Thanks

-David Sobon.
