this is potentially correct; however it works for 2.4.14 and the loop.c
patch from hvr hasn't changed (at least as far as i can tell).

i really need to step back from the problem since i've been doing too much
with too many different patches lately.

i have tested loop-AES and it seems to work well with 2.4.16pre1 (with the
small caveat that RH 7.2 has a new mount option patch (nodev) which
doesn't get applied with your patch - therefore boot scripts for mounting
filesystems fail. i actually hand applied the RH patch on top of yours and
have a diff somewhere if anybody wants it).

i can't do much more testing until next week. if anybody has any clues i'm
all ears.
