--- Comment #2 from pierrearinsal <pierre@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> 2009-07-30 18:51:40 ---
I was using 2.6.29....and 2.6.28, 27 before....

in gentoo, the pb appears with 2.6.30-r2, and it is the same with new
2.6.30-r4.

I have been asked to check ACPI and thermal probe messages in dmesg, but they
are the same :

ACPI: processor limited to max C-state 1
processor ACPI_CPU:00: registered as cooling_device1
processor ACPI_CPU:01: registered as cooling_device2

and

k8temp 0000:00:18.3: Temperature readouts might be wrong - check erratum #141

I must say I don't know how to check what "in max C-state 1" stands for.

I'm confused cause I can't find a way to reproduce for sure this issue. I usely
never reboot my laptop. I use suspend/hibernate. I reboot the laptop only when
I need a new option in the kernel. So the problem might be older than
2.6.29.....

the pb occurs randomly once every 2-4 boots, without ANY noticeable differences
dmesg!
once boot, with or without cpu-max-freq set correctly, everything works just
well (hibernate, suspend, on ac, on battery, changing cpu governor, ...).

here are some more infos if needed :
