Currency representation

There has been a discussion about how £sd was represented on punch cards
at Wikipedia.  Editors have dug out the PL/1 and COBOL manuals from the
'60s to show this.  See page 143ff at

I'm not pushing for a 50 year-old IBM extension to be added!  It might
be of interest to computer historians though.
