I have a web domain that is supported on a computer complex in Canada (doteasy.com.) I know that my particular domain is on a computer using Linux. My space includes a cgi-bin directory. I have used that for perl programs called from web pages. Is it possible at all to transfer an executable COBOL file to that host in my workspace and execute it as a called subprogram from a web page or even a PDF or SVG file? If so what supporting software must I also ship to the remote machine? I know that display etc. requires that an additional package be installed on the system (I forget the name for the moment) but I can live without that feature set for now. If necessary I can change some addressing in the C language result using -C when I compile the COBOL source . and then compile the C language result separately. Note that I do not suggest actually compiling programs remotely but compiling on my machine and then uploading. (Finally the SOURCE-COMPUTER and OBJECT-COMPUTER paragraphs will have some meaning :<) Any hints and suggestions are welcome. -- John Culleton Wexford Press Free list of books for self-publishers: http://wexfordpress.net/shortlist.html Updated PDF e-book: "Create Book Covers with Scribus 1.4.5" coming soon at http://www.booklocker.com/! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ BPM Camp - Free Virtual Workshop May 6th at 10am PDT/1PM EDT Develop your own process in accordance with the BPMN 2 standard Learn Process modeling best practices with Bonita BPM through live exercises http://www.bonitasoft.com/be-part-of-it/events/bpm-camp-virtual- event?utm_ source=Sourceforge_BPM_Camp_5_6_15&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=VA_SF _______________________________________________ open-cobol-list mailing list open-cobol-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/open-cobol-list
