lvm locking problem

I have a two node cluster on RHEL5 with 2.0.52 version of clustering
that appears to be operating normally however, I cannot run the
pvdisplay command:

[root@server1 ~]# pvdisplay
Error locking on node server2: Command timed out
Error locking on node server1: Command timed out
  Unable to obtain global lock.

I then run this command but it just hangs after displaying this output:
[root@server1 ~]# /etc/init.d/clvmd status
clvmd (pid 16888 8497) is running...

Here's clustat:

Not sure where to begin troubleshooting this. Any ideas?
