It's fixed in version 2.02.28 - vgscan also will initiate it.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but when will version 2.02.28 be released? The latest errata for clvmd seems to be for version 2.02.26 (http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHBA-2007-0518.html).
