That did the trick Bob. I had to turn off clustering for lvmconf (lvmconf --disable-cluster). After that, a vgchange -cn swapvg01 turned off the clustering attribute. Thanx much!!

Thanks Bob, I will try that. I wonder how that bit got turned on using standard local lvm commands? Interesting.

What you want to disable the clustering bit is:  vgchange -cn The answer isn't "exactly" in the faq, but you can find something close
