That is good news. So we have the head node (dream) with two ethernet cards. We want it to serve a GFS partition to two different subnets. I guess this is than also doable with multicast, right?

Yes, if your router is up to it.

That's a rather old version, I'm pretty sure that bug has been fixed since. Can you upgrade ?
