The iLO port is neither, it is a management port. Pretty easy to use, just look up fence_ilo for the options. Basically the "agent" issues some telnet commands to the iLO port and does a "power off" or a "power reset" command. Not the fastest thing in the world but it works. I like the fibre switch fenceing for it's speed and the fact that it forces manual intervention. If something really bad is wrong, then the node won't keep trying to boot and rejoin the cluster only to be fenced again. Ok, after reading your original post, it seems you are using JUST cluster services. GFS can fence the using iLO and fibre, NOT cluster services. That said, if you install and configure GFS, you can use the GFS fencing methods from within the cluster services by using the "gulm_bridge" fence device type. Using the standard RHEL3 cluster services your easiest route is prolly just getting some power switches. I've used APC network controllable devices and they work quite well. Just make sure you check the fencing module against the firmware version so the agent works correctly. -----Original Message----- From: linux-cluster-bounces@xxxxxxxxxx [mailto:linux-cluster-bounces@xxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of carlopmart Sent: Wednesday, January 25, 2006 5:09 AM To: linux clustering Subject: Re: Queston about rh cluster suite 3 Is it possible that we could use HP servers.
