When you delete files they're not normally scrubbed from the disk, the file system just forgets the deleted files are there. To fully remove the data you need something like TRIM:

fstrim -v /the_file_system

Hi all,

I have an rbd image that `rbd disk-usage` shows it has 31GB usage but in
the filesystem `du` shows its usage is 40KB.

Does anyone know the reason for this difference?
