Thanks. In the meantime we were able to narrow down the cause of the RAM consumption a little.
ceph mds cache status shows, that the cache is within the limit (32G):

The remaining memory belongs to buffer_anon:

Any idea what is that related to? Maybe the StrayManager. I can not find any information about buffer_anon.
