Upgrade from pacific to quincy. Best Practices

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hello!

We have a Ceph Pacific (16.2.7) cluster in production.

We started with Octopus, on Debian OS and Ceph packages, and made a local mirror of Ceph.  Later, we move to cephadm.

Now, we want to upgrade it to Quincy.

Two questions:

1. Should we install Debian's Bulleye Quincy sources in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ceph.list?

deb https://ceph.unnoba.edu.ar/debian-quincy/ bullseye main

2. ceph orch upgrade check --ceph-version 17.2.0 shows

   "needs_update": {

    ...    And lists all the current containers. (16.2.7)

ceph orch upgrade start --ceph-version 17.2.0 should works fine, right?

Thanks in advance!

Javier.-
