I think having only a block.db partition is better if you don’t have 2 separate disks for them. WAL will be placed in the DB partition if you don’t have a dedicated one for it.

Maybe you can use a part of this SSD as DB partitions for existing OSDs, and another part as data partition for a new SSD OSD?
