Fwd: radosgw bucket stats "ver" and "master_ver"

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi,

We have a couple of buckets used for media transcoding scratch space that
have huge lists under "ver" and "master_ver" when doing a "radosgw-admin
bucket stats".

Can anyone tell me what these version lists are for? I saw that Casey said
they're not related to bucket versioning, but I'm just wondering what they
*are* used for, and if they're causing any inefficiencies and if so if
there's any way to get rid of tracking them?

These happen to be on Luminous (I know) but I checked some Nautilus
clusters and they have similar version entries, though not as big I'm
assuming because the buckets are less transient.

Thanks,

Trey Palmer
