data objects lost but RGW objects still listed

Hi,

some weeks ago I had a mix of operator error and suspected rook bug (not
sure on that, other topic) leading to the loss of quite some objects on
my two EC pools - which are the data pools for a RGW zone/realm/whatever
each.

The problem I'm currently facing is RGW still listing the lost objects,
probably due to metadata still lingering around, and fails on retrieving
them. I tried `radosgw-admin bucket check --fix --check-objects`, but
that didn't seem to change anything.

Any pointers how to make the not-really-there-anymore objects go away
would be appreciated. I'll happily provide anything that might help you
helping me.

Some maybe useful details:

I see the objects as really gone, so recovery isn't a topic.

I'm running Ceph 16.2.5, provisioned with rook on a recent k8s cluster
with 6 BlueStore OSDs (mix of HDDs and SSDs).

The data pools are replicated pools now with size=3, I copied them over
and removed the EC ones - checking randomly old objects and ongoing use
hints at this being successful.

Thank you for any ideas
Mara
