That is on openSUSE Leap 15.2 so I simply install cephadm with zypper
from the pacific repo. From there everything regarding the boostrap
everything works as expected.

Hi,
thanks for your response.
Have you installed the cephadm tool with
curl --silent --remote-name --location
https://github.com/ceph/ceph/raw/pacific/src/cephadm/cephadm
On which OS are your running?
I can access the dashboard using the following bootstrap command:
sudo cephadm bootstrap --mon-ip 10.0.0.3 --initial-dashboard-user
admin --initial-dashboard-password xxx --dashboard-password-noupdate
--skip-mon-network
But the server did not work as Octopus. Adding mom hosts has no
effect, so I guess something important is missing.
Also when you follow the install guide from the pacific release
here: https://docs.ceph.com/en/pacific/cephadm/install/
it is very strange that the commands are all using 'octopus' instead
of 'pacific'. Ceph docu is always some a detective work...

Hi,
I asked a similar question three weeks ago
(https://lists.ceph.io/hyperkitty/list/ceph-users@xxxxxxx/message/63U7WYHFTHSPUQTAR73W2AIE3E3PJJ4X/), but in my case the bootstrap worked fine. But adding a label (e. g. _admin) had no effect although the host should have had the admin keyring after that. There's no response to my question yet so I'm not sure if that label thing is still
buggy.

hi,
if you follow the latest install guide here
<https://docs.ceph.com/en/latest/cephadm/install/> to install
pacific release, the bootstrap command will print the following
error message:

As a result the first node is not working correctly and you can
not add mom hosts. I tried to set the label manually afterwards
with :
# ceph orch host label add ceph-1 _admin
But this seems to have no effect.
Is this problem known? So only solution seems to stay with the
octopus release :-/
