many thanks! I somehow missed the important part in that thread earlier and only got the functional, but not really scaling "find . -xdev -inum xxx"-approach before I stopped reading,
but now I have followed it in full - very enlightening indeed, so one needs to look at the xattrs of the RADOS objects! 
Very logical once you know it.
