They have talked about working on allowing people to be able to do this, but for now there is nothing you can do to remove the block.db or block.wal from a bluestore OSD. However, there is an option to completely replace the SSD, not remove it. There are a few ML threads discussing how to utilize dd to copy all of the contents of the current SSD to a new device and configure your OSDs to use the new SSD.

Is a bluestore with block.db in a SSD. I'm not trusting the SSD and I
want to remove the block.db without destroying and creating the OSD.
There's a way to do this.
