ceph crushmap question

Hi. I'm newbie with ceph. I know that i can define custom types in crush map.
And type id 0 used always for devices. But if i specify
type 0 slot

Does i need to specify devices with this name or use predefined name device?
For example:
type 0 device
device 0 osd.0 class hdd
or
type o slot
slot 0 slot1-1 class hdd

My use case - i have udev rules on my servers that maps device with
serial number to specific server slot. So when disk dies i know which
slot needs to be replaced. (In my server led uid to identify disk does
not work). And i want to use my disk names (slot1, slot2 and so)
inside ceph crush map.
