NFS Ganesha on S3 is primarily designed to aid the bulk import or export of data for applications that do not support S3 natively and need a filesystem abstraction layer to alleviate that. If the file copy to RGW via s3cmd feels slow, I'd suggest to look for potential performance improvements in that combo first.
