That works indeed! I usually write 100M as well using dd just to be sure any other left-overs are gone.

$ dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdX bs=1M count=100

    bluestore) of the osd I want to remove?Especially when there are
    other osds are using other partition of the same ssd  as
    journals(wal,db if it is bluestore) .
