It's far better to make a 2nd partition for a colocated journal, even if you don't want a separate device. And then you have to point to it either with a symlink named journal, or in ceph.conf. And don't use raw names like /dev/sdb1, but use like /dev/disk/by-partlabel/journal_osd0 or partuuid or something else unique and stable. But that's not your failing to start problem. |
