Cache-tier's roadmap

Hello :
I use cache-tier in my production system, with ssds for cache-pool and HDs for base-pool,
Since my scenario is to support openstack volumes, which requires very strong consistency and availability, I need to care about the future development about ceph cache-tier.So I have a few questions.
First, I wonder if there is a roadmap or something like that for cache-tier's future development? When I read the code, it seems that there is still something can be done within cache-tier, multithread evict/flushing in a consistent way for example. If there is a plan, where can I find it?Because I'm willing to contribute some codes in the future if possible.
Second, I heard from a guy saying that the community will pending the development of cache-tier or even evict it from ceph. For now I think he says so just trying to sale more ssds. Is he jerking me?
