Hi, i suggest: at least update kernel. at best update/migrate (to a whole) recent ubuntu. Your 12.04 LTS is from 2012. Maybe after you skipped the 14.04 LTS, you should go on the 16.04 LTS with 4.4 Kernel. If the kernel is already so talkative to tell you that missing features are the problem, you eighter install more recent software to support it.
