We have 6 hosts running RadosGW with haproxy in front of them without problems.
Depending on your setup you might even consider running haproxy locally on your application servers, so that your application always connects to localhost. This saves you from having to set up highly available load balancers. It's strongly recommended, of course, to use some kind of automatic provisioning (Ansible, Puppet etc.) to roll out identical haproxy configuration on all these machines.
