You can install an ubuntu kernel from a newer ubuntu release, or pretty
much any mainline kernel from kernel-ppa.
Ubuntu Trusty has backported kernels from newer releases, e.g.
linux-generic-lts-vivid. By using this packages you will also receive
kernel updates from Vivid.
