We recently mixed CentOS/Ubuntu OSDs and ran into some issues, but I don't think those have anything to do with the distros but more likely with the fact that we ran -grsec kernel there.
YMMV. I don't think there's a reason it shouldn't work. It will be much harder to debug and tune, though if you plan to run it mixed in the long run.
