Is the external machine's network routable to all the OSDs, MDSes, and
monitors of your cluster? What do you mean "listed in ceph public
networks"? You can't bind machines to multiple public networks; you
can specify a cluster network (which the OSDs use for replication) and
a public network which is used for client access and everything else.
