<embarrassed> I obviously didn?t drink enough coffee this morning. I read your reply as something like ? "On each machine, the three OSD journals live on the same ext4 filesystem on an OSD?.

Anyway? what kind of SSD do you have? With iostat -xm 1, do you see high % utilisation on that SSD during these incidents? It could be that you?re exceeding even the iops capacity of the SSD.
