Are you running with Jessie but using wheezy from ceph.com (the only option for ceph.com)? If so, download and manually install libboost-system1.49.0 and libboost-thread1.49.0 from packages.debian.org. It baffled me for a minute - 1.55.0 is >= 1.49.0, but libboost-system1.49.0 is a completely different package to libboost-system1.55.0 so they can't be compared. Debian has 0.80 in Jessie but it is too old. It's going to be a bit of a pain for a while. Ceph maintainers: Could we get ceph packages built for Jessie? James
