Object store in CEPH - performance retrieving CEPH objects

Does anyone have any general performance information or experience regarding retrieving large numbers of objects out of the CEPH object store.  I know there's all sorts of variables related to this, but am just looking for some information on general experience that people might have.

For example...
I'm looking to store a lot of objects (thousands) that represent essentially a time-series of data off of a system.  After writing the objects out to CEPH, there are times when need to retrieve all the objects in the series.

Anyway...just looking for some performance-related experience with retrieving large numbers of CEPH objects.

Thanks...
