It would be great to get two logs from two different crashing OSDs for 
comparison purposes.

Gah... is this debian-based or rpm-based?  It should be using an ssh key 
installed in /usr/share somewhere.  dpkg -l ceph-common?  Not sure what 
the equivalent rpm command is.  And maybe bash -x ceph-post-file ... ?
