Hi,
In the last couple of months I got several questions from people who
asked how the Ceph integration with CloudStack works internally.
CloudStack is being developed rapidly lately and the documentation about
how it all works internally isn't always up to date.
I made a small diagram which explains how CloudStack communicates with

To be clear:
- The CloudStack management server never contacts the Ceph cluster
- Only the hypervisors contact the Ceph cluster
The storage subsystem in CloudStack is going a major overhaul right now
and those changes will hit 4.2. It will mainly change code and not so
much the workflow.
Hope this makes it all a bit more clear.
