There isn't a difference. The problem is that we don't build anything
except CentOS7 and Xenial for CI

We don't have tests that exercise Jessie or Stretch, like we don't
have anything that uses arm64 for example.

Sage has suggested a small ceph-deploy "smoke suite" that can install
and check if everything is running, that it seems we had at some
point.
