News: Github, new documentation

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Good afternoon, dear ceph-devel. I have two news items to share with you:

First, we're moving to Github. This will hopefully make it easier for
all of you to interact with the git repository. You'll see some of our
repositories already showing up under
https://github.com/NewDreamNetwork/ , and the ceph.git over there
becomes the official repository Thursday 15th at 7pm PDT, that is
2011-09-16T02:00Z

Second, we've been putting more effort into getting the documentation
to really shine. The mkcephfs-style installation section is starting
to look good, and the manpages have moved over and are now also
visible on the web. It's still very much a work in progress, and we
will definitely continue improving them, but where there is meat on
the bones, it's already better than the wiki content was. The new docs
are published at http://ceph.newdream.net/docs/ , the source material
for them is in ceph.git:doc/ , and the wiki is slowly being edited to
refer to the new locations, where appropriate. Any feedback is
welcome!
