To my knowledge this is not possible for Windows clients (at least XP
and seven). Not even for some dummy network printers that simply ignore
any hostname offers from (ISC) DHCP server.
I was wandering too if this is possible, maybe somebody succedeed...
Heh I just found out. In "My Computer", there's a hostname tab, and the
hostname sent from the server appears correctly. There's also a
'hostname' command usable in the DOS shell, that returns me the correct
hostname. The FQDN appears as a part of ipconfig.
<sigh>
Jesus, how do sysadmins manage their daily work with such a braindead
system?
</sigh>
Cheers,
