I forgot the web interfaces to LDAP. You can use a web browser to 
administer your LDAP database:

LDAP Account Manager
http://www.ldap-account-manager.org/lamcms/

PHPldapadmin
http://phpldapadmin.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/Main_Page

I use both, depending on the particular need I have at the moment.
