When I install some RPMS like openoffice 3 on centos x85_64 is there some command that will leave all the actual files alone (leave them installed) but just remove the RPM name from the RPM database so centos now things the packages are not installed? Reason is I was wanting to do this so a next yum update does not get all confused... and the yum update happens just like I never installed openoffice 3. is there a way to do that ?
