There is a 'reserve' of space, that only root can write to. In the case of /dev/md0 above, normal users will get a 'no space left on device' error trying to write files. root, however, can still manage to write another 5.3 gig before encountering this error. It only shows up as so large because the reserve space is a *percentage* of the total file system, and /dev/md0 is a huge file system. > > d > > > _______________________________________________ > CentOS mailing list > CentOS@xxxxxxxxxx > http://lists.centos.org/mailman/listinfo/centos > > -- Robert Heller -- 978-544-6933 Deepwoods Software -- Download the Model Railroad System http://www.deepsoft.com/ -- Binaries for Linux and MS-Windows heller@xxxxxxxxxxxx -- http://www.deepsoft.com/ModelRailroadSystem/ _______________________________________________ CentOS mailing list CentOS@xxxxxxxxxx http://lists.centos.org/mailman/listinfo/centos
