BTW, several years ago when I first started using IPCop, I ran some
tests. My cable provider was a Road Runner (5Mb/s?). All configurations
used 10Mb/s ISA ethernet cards of various brands, coaxial cable. Test
sites the same and time frames about the same for each download test.
Memory about the specific numbers below is fuzzy, but tshould be in the
ballpark.

IBM 486/DX2 66MHz Aptiva ISA bus - 477MB/s
The Pentium mentioned above (PCI bus) - >= 533 MB/s
AMD K3+ 380MHz (running 369MHz) 256MB PCI bus, PC-Chips M571 mobo - >=
599MB/s

Now with RR Turbo and burst mode for first few MB of download, mix of
gigabit and 10/100 twisted pair network, I've seen >= 1.2MB/s with the
AMD setup and >=900 MB/s with the pentium.

I wanted to mention this so you'd know what kind of flexibility you have
if you run up on a really good deal.
